Goodbye, funnyman...
I just read that Rory Root died. For those who didn't know, Root was the mastermind behind Comic Relief, a great comics shop in the Bay area. Back when Kristen and I were regular attendees of A.P.E. we used to see Rory all the time. He was a big supporter of indy comix in general, and we're gonna miss him.

This is so sad.... Rory was such an amazing force for comics, specifically independent graphic novels. He will truly be missed. Goodbye, Rory. :'(

I only knew him via some comic retailer forums, but he seemed like a great guy. Such a shame.

That's sad. I only met him once, he seemed like a very geniune fellow. He made an impression on me when I first saw him because he had these big braces on his arms for carpel tunnel. I remember thinking he looked like something out of Mad Max.
